Deep learning algorithms: With a built-in deep learning module, the DHI-NVR5216-8P-I adopts video image structuring technology based on deep learning algorithms, achieving high-precision human face recognition and perimeter protection. By applying deep learning artificial intelligence, the DHI-NVR5216-8P-I allows users to focus on what matters most, improving event response time and helping to make video actionable.

Perimeter protection: Perimeter Protection automatically filters out false alarms caused by animals, rustling leaves, bright lights, etc., enabling the system to act as secondary recognition for the targets, to improve alarm accuracy.

Real time face recognition: This NVR has the ability to conduct real time face recognition. Facial attribute analysis includes gender, age, expression, glasses, moustache, and mouth mask. It identifies people, records face with metadata, and can filter facial features with real time display, showing only faces with the target features.

Face database management: This NVR has multiple configurable face databases, with powerful face database management. Face databases can be applied to video channels independently, and name, gender, birthday, nationality, address, ID information can be added to each face picture.

Common/Stranger mode: The DHI-NVR5216-8P-I supports common and stranger mode. In stranger mode, when the NVR detects a strange face (i.e. not in the device's face database), it can trigger an alarm, buzzer, snapshot, record, etc. Similarity threshold can be set manually. This function can be utilized for important infrastructure sites for which access control is critical.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) search: The DHI-NVR5216-8P-I supports searching by metadata of humans and vehicles, and supports uploading face pictures to the NVR and comparing them with recorded faces in the NVR by similarity. This enables users to quickly and easily search through multiple channels and lengthy recordings, efficiently finding out when and where a person of interest appeared.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR): ANPR is available for convenient entrance/exit management. This NVR supports license plate recognition (working with Dahua ITC cameras, sold separately), black/white list import/export, add/delete B/W list number, and search result from recorded video.

Point of Sale (POS): Ideal for grocery and retail stores, the optional POS solution allows the DHI-NVR5216-8P-I NVR to receive a POS transaction via corresponding video. This feature allows merchants to analyze specific transactions via the Fuzzy search algorithm.
