Types of fire hydrants

The hydrants column can be dry and wet column.
- The hydrants dry column is what are automatically emptied after use. In this way, by not containing water when it is not necessary, they do not have the risk of breakage due to frost. These hydrants also incorporate a system that ensures their tightness in the event of impact failure.
- The hydrant’s wet column is an alternative to more efficient and effective dry column hydrants, since they have all the mechanism on the surface without the complications posed hydrants wet column. However, it has lower flow performance compared to column hydrants. In addition, its use requires more time, since you have to locate it first and remove the cap later to be able to fit the hose. In any case, they offer an effective solution for highly populated urban centers where there may be space problems.
INSTALLATION OF FIRE HYDRANT SYSTEMS

WHAT BUILDINGS SHOULD HAVE THIS EQUIPMENT?
All buildings whose descending evacuation height is greater than 28 m and ascending greater than 6 m must have an installation of at least one hydrant for the entire building. Those with a high occupancy density with a constructed area between 2000 square meters and 10,000 square meters must also have this equipment.
